What the Role Delivers

AgroFresh is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join our Corporate finance team. This role is a critical position responsible for contributing to key corporate accounting processes. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely month-end close activities, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of improving financial accounting efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities In order of relative importance

· Support day-to-day accounting processes: including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.

· Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.

· Prepare month-end account reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity and accuracy.

· Prepare and enter journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

· Perform in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities.

· Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations.

· Assist with special and ad hoc projects as assigned.

What the Job Requires

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

· Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a Corporate setting.

· Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

· Experience working in a manufacturing company, preferably specialty ingredients or specialty chemicals.

· Prior work experience in a global, matrixed, organization.

· Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and identify opportunities for improvement.

· Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.

· While remote, candidates in Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.

What to Have Done and Know How to Do

These skills and experiences are highly desirable; however, they do not preclude exceptions based on an individual’s performance history and demonstrated potential.

· Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and AP automation software is highly desirable.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level required - pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
